Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. manufactures and markets a wide spectrum of consumer products ranging from fans, light sources and luminaires, pumps and household appliances, such as geysers, mixer grinders, toasters and irons. Crompton has been the market leader in fans, domestic pumps and street lighting for over 20 years.

Problem
Crompton Greaves’ Lighting Division plant is in Vadodara. The plant manufactures all the light sources and luminaires for the Company. Light manufacturing involves extensive chemical processes from the start to finish.
Three years ago the plant replaced its roof with metal roofing sheets. One year on, the metal roofing sheets started corroding. The industrial pollution of the city combined with the chemical fumes from the light manufacturing process have affected the metal sheets and corroded them.
The damaged roofing sheets were exposing the plant interiors to the natural elements and putting the plant equipment, material and men to risk.

Requirement
